A Stupid Kid

I know this is old but I just had the misfortune of watching it. THE MOST ANNOYING STUPIDEST KID EVER!

Now don't get me wrong. I HATE SAUDI! But what I hate more is alflsfah from a Saudi. And so I am here today, putting my OB book aside and proving him stupid.

Luckily, just a couple of days ago I got all nostalgic, played with my dolls and read an old Winnie the Pooh book which I got from guess where? AMERICA TDAH DAH DAH. So let us tackle this stupid kid's arguments and send him to his daddy crying.

  1. I'm pretty sure the man's name is Mimon not Lemon. Fucking learn how to read.
  2. Really you never read an English book that was "s5eef"? I beg to disagree. How to Catch a Heffalump was the stupidest shit ever. Winnie the Pooh is insanely dumb and the whole time I was rereading the book I was thinking: how the fuck did I loved him when I was little? Child, you just don't read much. In every language there are the lame books and the good ones. You just have to pick the right ones which also must be age appropriate. Maybe the "crazy book" you were referring to was for younger midgets. Like the Winnie the Pooh book. It was definitely not targeted to amuse the 20 something bored girl who would do anything to avoid studying.
  3. You judge a book by the number of pages? It's quality not quantity but what can I say you are a Saudi.
  4. Stupid dad, heard of Bambi? The mother dies. It's OK. Kids can handle death. You don't want your child exposed to this kind of tragedy, read the fucking book before giving it to him.
  5. "How can you actually buy a new mom?...". I bet you this is not a concept created by Arabs. Watch Trading Mom there's a market where you can actually buy a new mom. The horror.
  6. "You only have one mom who is dead. So you have to actually just grow up and then just marry something...". A) That's mean. B) That's your solution? To just marry "something"? Like what a sex doll?
  7. Wow his favourite dinosaur is the one who looks like an insect. Good choice. NOT!
I blame the dad. His kid is nothing special and just as bad as Rebecca Black.

P.S: I'm not defending Arabic literature. It sucks.

A Book Crush

Hola boys and girls. Mama feels like a silly teenager and comes to you with a new crush of hers. I HATE to admit it cuz he is supposed to be the enemy and I spent so much time enjoying hating him, I can't just declare my like to him? Or can I? Err anyway, here it goes. I like Gerard Pique. *covers her face*

Yes, I used to think he looks like a mule. But that big blue eyed mule writes! HE PUBLISHED A BOOK! HONEY I'M SOLD! Nothing like a brainy athlete!

Oh forget about the stupid crush. I NEED TO READ THIS BOOK! It needs to be translated to English ASAP. Or it will be just a more motivation for me to pick up where I left off and start learning Spanish again cuz baby this book cries read me.

To conclude, crushes come and go but Real Madrid is for life. Hala Madrid.

Life of Pi

Someone a while back recommended this book to me. I can't recall who but thanks, I loved it.

*Spoiler Alert*

The book promises you a story that will make you believe in God. I'm not sure how? But since I already believe who cares. At the beginning and due to the promise I thought it was just about this Indian kid who is exploring religion and God. Which was fine, I loved this part. Some deep, intense stuff. Though for a second there I got all closed minded and just couldn't get over the fact that you can NOT have 3 religions. You just can't. When the 3 wise men fought over that same issue and he said "I just want to love God", I felt ashamed and shut my head up. But then after reading the whole thing I stand by believing it's wrong. I guess Yann Martel, didn't do enough research about Islam. Because if he did he will know that a person who is a Muslim and whose major is religion would know that the only unforgivable sin in Islam is to worship other Gods or things beside Allah. Big failure. But hey that's not the point of the story.

Now to the sea part, seriously "film hindi" LOL. Some really unbelievable, disgusting shit. And while I was reading it, I thought it was really a true story cuz he kinda of said so at the author's notes, but then I found out it's fiction. The point is I wanted to google a lot of the stuff cuz they sounded so science fictiony. And it really Really broke my heart. Too much suffering.

When he gave that other version or story or whatever, if it's a true story, I would have favoured it. Cuz seriously how in the world were the meerkats would exist in that carnivore island? By the way the meerkats totally reminded me of the world cup. No, for real, if such island exists that would be awesome. I ain't questioning it either.

I didn't want it to stop. I wanted to know what happens next? How could a person who has went through all of that lead a normal life? It's a great book and I totally recommend it to you. A part of me thinks it's a must read too.

My Top Ten Reads

I was tagged by my friend Fadiosis, to write about my top ten books. And boy what a hard job that will be. First, because I don't know which are my top ten. Second, I think a person is somewhat defined by what he/she reads and likes, so here comes the pressure. And yes, if you don't read your somewhat empty.

I won't list them as to which is the best and so forth. I will list them randomly as which comes to my head first. So here we go,

My Friend Leonard. I am in LOVE with James Frey. This book made me feel. I was sad when James was sad. I cried when he did. I wept and gasped for air when he did. I smiled, I laughed, I felt depressed, lost hope, all when he did. I felt it then a heart beat after I read him feeling it. For me that is the ultimate definition of good writing.
Plus I fell in love with and started using the word "Fuck". LOL

P.S to Oprah: so what he lied and said it really did happen. He's an amazing writer and that all what counts. :P

روضة المحبين و نزهة المشتاقين لإبن قيم جوزية
This is one of the very few Arabic books I have ever read. I didn't buy it. I don't know who put it in my room. But I was bored so I just grabbed it and *puff* all the satisfying answers my teenage-confused brain needed to know about love. This book is a MUST read to everyone who is -like me- do not understand others obsession with love and a MUST to those who are obsessed with it and truly know nothing about it. So basically its a must for everyone.

A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer. This book is just cheer brilliance. I love love love it.

Kane & Abel, another master piece by Jeffrey and I must say I HATE Abel!

The Prodigal Daughter. This is the sequel of the previous. I read it a few months after. It is really amazing but he just kept repeating a lot of things that happened for the readers who haven't read the first. So it kinda pissed me off. Other than that it's a master piece.

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. Sick, entertaining, amazingly written and alpha 5 reductase deficiency. Enough said.

Angels & Demons. Everyone must have a favourite Dan Brown. The science, the art, the thrill. What's not to love?

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. While reading it, at first I was very confused. The plot was like nothing I ever read. I'm not even sure there was a plot and I kept asking myself who is the freaking heroin? But then I semi got it and gave in. At the end it all sunk in and I knew I was reading something that is written by a genius. I even got goosebumps.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. If only she did not kill my beloved Snape *weeps*.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This also made me feel. I have said enough about it here.

*Traaa* I'm done. xD

I tag: Bookworm, Another Penelope, Skittles, Candy, Shahirah Elaiza , and who ever feels like doing it. =]

Random

Hello, I passed my stupid radiology final yaaaaaay. Well, normally I wouldn't be happy for just passing. But you don't know. This course is:
  1. Only 3 weeks.
  2. No text book.
  3. The doctors were m3 nfshom.
  4. Stupid.
  5. Very hard.
  6. Only one day to study for the final.
  7. There was no midterm. The whole 100 marks went on the final.
  8. The final was only MCQs BUT every one MCQ is graded with 2 marks.

Do the math. That is why I'm so happy al 7mdullah. Don't worry reality will kick me later and the nerd in me will wake up.

BTW I finished A Thousand Splendid Suns, but I'm not in the mood for a review. So I'll just say this: I HATE MEN! I hate Taliban! I cried a river. Seriously this book is so depressing and I'm already beyond depressed. I didn't need this too. Do not read it except if your living in LALA land and want to come back to reality.

So what should I read next? Any recommendations?

The Kite Runner

Overwhelming. It's the best & first word that comes to my mind when I think of it. It consumed my soul, left me exhausted but wanting more. I might not sound sane in the last sentence, but that's how I felt. This book hit a cord in me. A very deep one.

I loved the story, the depth, the writing style, the twists, the drama, the irony and Afghanistan. I simply almost loved everything about it. It's a must read and definitely joining my favorite-books-list.

Now for some crazy talk: *Spoiler Alert*
  1. Amir in away reminded me of Chuck Bass. Both of their moms died at child birth and they are insecure when it comes to proving themselves to their fathers. But of course my Chucky, would never betray his friends. He's always the hero saving the day- y5ty 3lih LOL. And what's up with writers always killing the rich kid's mother at child birth? It also happened to Abel's mom from Kane & Abel, by Jeffery Archer. And many others I can't recall. Maybe its to balance things up, you have money and all the crap it can buy, but you can't have the most precious thing: your mom. Drama, drama.

  2. I could relate to Amir's dad not wanting the Russian doctor to treat him. You see Uyghurs too lived through a war with Russia and I hared all about it from my grandmother -Allah yr7mha- which she heard about it from her parents. But she never really saw Russians. So once, the Russian circus was in town & we told her we are going. Even though she was sick and couldn't walk she insisted on going just to see those people she learned to hate.
  3. Amir's dad is an ass hole. There is no excuse for hiding that major, important fucking fact! He stole their rights to the truth. Amir's right to be a decent person and Ali's birth rights.
  4. I LOVED : "They only let you be this happy if they are preparing to take something from you" Amir's mom.

  5. The ending was good but kinda lame.

Can't wait to read A Thousand Splendid Suns. But I have my finals in less than 2 weeks and I HAVE TO STOP SLACKING & STUDY!!

P.S: I don't hate Russians I think they are hot. And besides the ones who killed and destroyed are long dead now.

The Lost Symbol

Just finished it. And I'm not impressed. Dan Brown is repeating himself and it's getting boring.
The tale have the same pattern as the 2 others. A phone call at the middle of the night, off he goes, involvement with the law, long chase, problems solving, dramatic twists and oh once again he saves the day.

I'm also not very fascinated by the story or the characters. They have no depth. And it's pretty much obvious who is this Malakh villain. Don't worry I won't spoil it for you. But I will give Dan this, even though I knew, I was sick to my stomach when he reviled it. Such a cruel, sick truth.

And another thing, I believe in the presence of Malakh-like people in this world. People with wealth who have & done everything. Who are empty, shallow & bored out of their minds. Who will go seek fulfilment & be blinded by a dark illusion. And will do whatever to achieve that illusion. I like this about Dan. He does some very well studied villains. =]

Oh and Dan, the Bible wasn't rewritten by humans to hide the precious information it held from the unenlightened people.

Now, what to read next? Act Like A lady Think Like A Man? Or The Kite Runner? Or maybe I should really start studying. :/

Update

Tomorrow I'm going back to school, or in my case hospital. I'm scared LOL. It feels like a new chapter of my life. Hopefully it will be a happy one with less drama. Whom am I kidding? This is medical school. With less traumatic annoying drama.
My day will start at 9 a.m. which is a HUGE improvement. I hope it's not just tomorrow. I have medicine & surgery. The rest of the schedule will be known tomorrow.
Last year 4th year student, took a WEEK orientation cuz it's the beginning of the clinical years. But apparently we are a bunch of extra ordinary geniuses and we don't need orientation. Good for us LOL.

I got my metal braces a few days ago and I absolutely hate it. It's sharper and irritating. But I look OK. Not as freaky as I thought I would look. =]
And I just realized that I'm so stupid & I should have waited till I get my hospital ID. Cuz now my mouth will look like a fish & my smile won't be cute.

I also finished the book I was reading Chances. It's really entertaining. I love it & can't wait to read the sequel. But it's not for everyone. This is one of its reviews "Should be called 'The Godfather Goes to Bed'" - Cable News Network

P.S: that's not why I liked it. :P

Who's That Girl?

I love Alexandra. Her books are fun and light reads, that I very much like. But this one made me cry!
It's about this girl, Charlotte who meets her twenty-one-year-old self Lottie.

Charlotte is an uptight, stressed, professional, responsible, hard working girl.
Lottie is fun, care free, flirty, ... etc.

Charlotte tries to give advice to Lottie to fix her life and to avoid some traumatic experiences.

So why did I cry? Well, I'm more like the thirty-something Charlotte and I'm only 20 T_T
I want to look back at my life and see how crazy it was. how much fun I had. Dude I seriously need to let loose more often and stop fucking stressing over everything. But on the bright side I already use sun screen which means I'll have a great skin when I'm thirty. :P
And I do share one thing with Lottie. I still believe in me & my dreams. There is still hope for me right?=]

In books I read, I always mark the pages with lines I LOVE. In this book I only marked this:

19. Cheap shoes suck. Save up and buy designer.

Because there are some things in life that are worth spending money on, and Jimmy Choos are one of them.

Soooooooo true I can't agree more

Take Your Fing Finger Off that Pause Button

Finally, an interesting day in the life of CoOkie. Plus it was HAPPY! I feel so giddy LOL.

Oh but it wasn’t all kisses and hugs from the start. I honestly wanted to strangle someone. Anyone.

Ok. Ok. I'll tell ya all about it. :p

My friend Yara lives in the states and I only get to see her once a year, which sucks. And she's been here for more than a week, but I didn’t get to see her. Guess freaking why? *drum rolls*
Its cuz her DRIVER left the next day after her arrival and as I never fail to remained you, mine is away too.

Anyway, we couldn’t leave such a pickle in the way and so decided to meet today for lunch at Casper & Gambini's . They did invent cabs you know :P
I can't possibly go in a cab alone. So of course I asked my sisters to come along. But then suddenly out of nowhere, its one of their friends birthday and her sister is throwing her a surprise party in the.. yeah u guessed it the fucking morning! I mean what the hell? Morning? Which means afternoon cuz no one is on time. Its KSA HELLO NO RESPECT FOR TIME!

And CoOkie turns all gloomy and sad once again. Puff. But then I remember our other friend G came back from Malaysia yesterday and she wants to see Yara. So I called her & asked her to join us. maybe she'll pick me up, but guess what? LOL. She said: "Oh I'd love too. I miss you both so bad, BUT my DRIVER just left on holiday THREE!". I said: " hail a cab. That’s what we're gonna do".
She laughed and said no.

The drivers issue: coincidence? I think NOT!

P.S: They should fucking seriously allow us fucking women, their other fucking halves to fucking drive. So we don’t have to fucking put our lives on fucking hold once our fucking drivers went away on holidays or shit. Ok?

I called Yara & I told her the bad news. But then she told me to ask my sisters where is their friend's house so they'll drop me off on their way to a near restaurant . I said "ok I'll call ya back" .
I went to ask them and they were not going. The surprise party was canceled. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. LOL. Back on plan. =]

And CoOkie meets Yori =D. Blah blah we had a nice lunch, some gossip and uh fun. CoOkie leaves happy.

Then I went and bought.. oh yes I did.. a beautiful Black Berry =D. Ooh I'll call him Mr. Bibi.
Mr. Bibi makes me so happy and a little bozzy bozzy. I think I love him. Xoxo.

5la9 enough about my day. Uh uh uah. Not so fast. I still want to blab. I'm now watching Desperate Housewives season 5. and:
1. I feel so sorry for Gabby. She's such a sweet heart and an amazing wife and mom.
2. Lynette isn’t my favorite character anymore. I kinda dislike her now.
3. I'm loving Bree.
4. MJ is so cute and he really makes me sad. 7aram 7boo.=[
5. That FREAK Eddie's husband, marrah y5wef :S

On another subject. I tried to read an ebook from WeRead an application on FB. Bright Shinny Morning By James Frey. Which I'm sure I'm gonna love, cuz I'm just in love with James. But the ebook thingy didn’t work for me so eye tiring. So I'm gonna read something else I picked up today: Who's That Girl.

LOL I could seriously hear someone say "I don’t fucking care". Well its MY blog and I have nothing else to say. =D

Oh no wait. Ramadan Kareem everyone XOXO.

A Prisoner of Birth

Just finished A Prisoner of Birth and OMG I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!

Its been a long time since I read something this unputdownable, amazing and thrilling.
You all must move you’re asses to the nearest book store and buy it. It’s a MUST READ!

Same Old

Glitter Graphics
Glitter Graphics from GlitterGeek.com

I'm so bored. I do nothing but sleep, read and watch TV. I have a lot on my mind and I have a lot to do. But all I can seem to do is make lists and not fulfill them. What's wrong with me I feel so angry and I don’t want to talk to no one.

I'm waiting for my summer training to start. But I haven't heard anything from the hospital. They said in August and now a week passed and nothing. =[

A couple of days ago I finished One Hundred Years of Solitude. And OMG its unbelievably BRILLIANT!
When I first started reading I was thinking I know it will suck just like Love in the Time of Cholera why am I wasting my time. I kept on reading and then thought that he's either a genius or a complete idiot. I find his way of writing very unique. I couldn't make my mind until I read the last sentence in the book and chills went through my body. And then I knew he's a complete GENIUS!
I love the book and its now one of my favs. <3

Anywho, now I'm reading another Julia Quinn, Brighter than the Sun, and it’s a fun, light read.

Oh and a few months back, I finished Julia's Bridgeton family series and none of them is good as The Viscount who Loved Me. But still they were a fun read instead of the medical books and the preparations for the exams. :P :p
Don’t know what I'm gonna read next. Any suggestions?

CoOkie Jar

Attention to all CoOkies out there. It's your queen CoOkie: Me XD

I saw Oprah the other day and she brought Steve Harvey to talk about his new book: Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. And from what I saw it seems like some seriously funny shit. I MUST READ IT!!

But then cuz I live in Saudi, I have to wait -I don't know how long- to get the book. T_T

Anywho, at the end of the interview he said that men only need 3 things. Silly me,I forgot the 1st 2. but the 3rd one was: THEY HAVE TO GET THE COOKIE!!

He didn't mean women. he meant sex LOL. And I was like: NOOO please don't ruin me cookie!!

But you know most of the time cookies are women. And I really like our nickname, as you see I'm the Smart CoOkie. =]

If I was a real cookie I would surely be my own recipe of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies yumm. I'm good for you but still with a dark, mysterious side, you can't but loose yourself in it :P

So what about you all the girls out there? What type of a cookie are ya ?

Everything and the Moon

Hello

I'm back with more books =]

I finished the Duke and I.
Its really good and lovely with a handsome hunk and I really liked the girl.
But, I felt it was a lot like The Viscount Who Loved Me. I don’t know it felt like it had the same pattern but with different scenarios and dilemmas. :S

Still I advise you all romance lovers to read it. The Bridgerton's family series are highly addictive. =]

I'm a Julia Quinnholic.
I took this quiz the other day: which JQ heroine are you? :

The results fit me quite well. But I don’t know who's this Victoria person?

So I called my Julia Quinn dealer and I screamed: do you have Everything and the Moon?
She was like: yeah I do.
I screamed: I want it tomorrow!!
And she was: OK. I swear I just put in my bag!!
I relaxed a bit and then explained all bout the quiz and that I wanted to know who am I?
She said: aha I see.

Then we blabbed about other stuff.

We hang up.

I was in total shock. Cuz she didn’t ask me where did a take the quiz? And she's the person who has hocked me up in the 1st place :S

A minute later
My mob rang!!

And she was screaming: I WANT TO KNOW WHO AM I TOO ? WHERE DID U TAKE THE QUIZ?
LOL
I gave her the site and everything and off she went.

I don’t remember why I'm telling you about this phone call :S

Anyway, I read the book and I finished in a day. I totally LOVE it.
Its my favorite JQ's book so far. Not because I'm like Victoria. Cuz I don’t think I am. Well just a little.
Mmm now I know that what I felt for Anthony from The Viscount Who Love Me was lust, not love. Cuz I'm totally in LOVE with Robert. <3>Romancing Mister Bridgerton.. yaaay!!

Mar 8, 2009

Book Review .. Doc. Smart CoOkie Style!!

Since I didn’t go to college today ( I decided I need a break XD), I'll blab a little or maybe a lot *grinning*, on 3 of the books I read last month. Enjoy!! Or not.
Oh I'm sure you will :P
The Viscount who Loved ME
By
Julia Quinn

Oh I'm in love!! *blushing* with the heroin, the Viscount, lord Bridgerton, Anthony.
He's mm how should I put it? Devastatingly handsome.
Tall, athletic, brown eyes, chestnut thick hair, perfect cheek bones and his lips were classically beautiful :P

However, this book beauty is not all him its so romantic, smart and seriously funny. I mean you WILL laugh your ass out.
But I'm not that fond of the ending, being not a happy endings person. I was longing for someone to die. (I need my drama)

Actually this book is the 2nd of a series of 8 for the 8 children of the Bridgerton family. I am now reading the 1st " The Duke and I". And so far so good. Jill Barnett says that "Julia Quinn is our contemporary Jane Austen." And I can't agree more. Although I don't know who's the hell this Jill? It written on the back cover.

I'm dying to read " Romancing Mister Bridgerton". It's Colin's book. But I can't find it anywhere. =[
So people in Jeddah please if find it tell me where or if you have it lend it to me. I promise I'll take good care of it *angel face*.

P.S: if you ever going to read for this author –which is very much advisable- don't read the back cover. It gives too much info.

Eat
Pray
Love

By
Elizabeth Gilbert

What a brilliant book!!

I loved that fact that she dropped everything and just took off. I wish I can do that, but I can't =[ .

In the eat part she goes to Italy and obviously eat. However if I were her, I'd have done things in this order:
1. Shower myself with art.
2. Eat.
3. Shop till I drop. And I'll become a super model at last yaay . Here's the story of my discovery XD:
Here I am all glammed up, shopping and wondering around in Milan. I walk into Valntino's boutique and I start looking around. I find this amazing red dress. I know I can't afford it but yet I and go and try it on. I walk out of the changing room looking absolutely breath taking and it just happens that my so soon to be best friend, Vlentino is sitting right there. He looks at me and he's out of his mind. He jump up and tell me he needs me for his show tomorrow night. That I'm the perfect girl for it. I'm so flattered but I have to refuse you see I am a doctor not a model (that's what my mom said when I told her I want to be a model LOL). He begs me. And I say no again. He begs some more and offer to give me the dress I'm wearing. Hmm I think a little then say OK. << I know m3 nfsy LOL
4. I eat some more then gag. I have to walk the runway tomorrow :P.
5. I become a super model overnight.
6. You know when in Rome :P

I'm not a big fan of the India part (pray). I just don't believe in the stuff she claims.
The Indonesia (love) part is amazing. The people are so cute. You are just gonna love them.
All to all it’s a really good book with lots of answers. Read it!!
I SAID NEXT..

Love in the Time of Cholera
By
Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Let's just cut the crap and put it to this: the best thing about this book is its cover!!
Yeah you heard me the cover!!
No but but blah blah. I know this author won a Nobel prize. I know everybody thinks it’s the most amazing love story of all times. But its simply not!!

This is how I see it: Florentino Ariza was dumped by his teenage sweetheart. She gets married to a doctor, that you will wish for his death in the 1st 60 pages so the story can finally begin. Mean while, Florentino Ariza becomes a man hore, still obsessing over Fermina Daza (and whats with writing their full names every time they are mentioned :S). The doc die and the two get together when they are 80 and somehow they manage to have very bad sex. How in the world did they have Viagra or something in that time? :S
The end.

What a pathetic loser!!

To be honest the last chapter is fairly good. Cuz you would want to know what happens in the end.
And its not just me who hated the book. Its all the people in my book club. And we are good readers. So its not us, it’s the fucking highly over rated book.

But I'm still willing to read One "Hundred Years of Solitude". I only hope its better. Much, much better!!

Wow that was long :P
